Wow! The memory of the stock market crash is SLOWLY fading. It is time to reassess your position. Here are some steps you should take at each stage of life to get back in the game. Depressed stock prices are an opportunity for young and mid-career workers, but those who are near retirement need to reconsider their investment strategy and timetable.

I grew up in Louisiana. All of my family left Louisiana for other parts of the country. Parents, brothers, sisters, children, nieces, nephews have all left. My wife is a lovely lady who grew up in big cities. Where should we retire? I have debated this in my mind numerous times.
I am a big hunter, golfer and fisherman. Retiring in Boise, Idaho would be great for hunting or maybe Missoula, Montana. I have hunting buddies in both places, Bob and Adrian. From Texas to Florida along the Gulf Coast would be good for bass fishing. These would provide strong possibilities for me as a start. My wife grew up in a big city and likes city life with its obvious conveniences. She grew up in Houston and likes it except for high humidity that causes the curl in her hair to loose its lovely "springiness." Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Kansas City, and San Diego come to mind as possibilities for her.
But what are the benefits and costs of these places for meeting both of our needs without breaking the family budget? And where are the best cities to retire?

One of my daughters has an MBA from Southern Methodist University. She has worked for me for ten years. She basically runs my company now. I was sitting with her discussing the fun people we met at Hawaiian Electric and the fun I had teaching 46 courses to 2,300 employees over a three month period this winter. Three marvelous months, I might add.

Children's Joke Q: What do you get if Batman and Robin get smashed by a steam roller?
A: Flatman and Ribbon.
Electricity Joke
Boudreaux is working as a ticket collector on a bus for a bus company.
He rings the bell for the driver to set off when there's a woman half getting on the bus. The driver sets off driving and the woman falls from the bus and is killed. At the trial, Boudreaux is convicted for murder, and seeing as it's Texas, he's sent to the electric chair. On the day of his execution Boudreaux sat in the chair and the executioner grants him a final wish.
"Well," Boudreaux says, "Is that your packed lunch over there?" "Yes," answers the executioner. Boudreaux says, "Can I have that green banana?"
The executioner gives Boudreaux his green banana and waits till he's eaten it. When Boudreaux finished, the executioner flips the switch sending hundreds of thousands of volts through him. When the smoke clears Boudreaux is still alive. The executioner can't believe it.
"Can I go?" Boudreaux asks. "I suppose so," says the executioner, "That's never happened before."
