Course Objective:

The primary objective of this course is to teach a customized finance and accounting course to boards of directors. A second objective of this course is to teach board members about their industry and what they can do to deal with financial opportunities and threats. Participants will learn how to better understand their company's financial statements and annual reports, as well as how they can impact them. Participants will understand their duties and responsibilities related to budgeting, the financial markets, Capital vs. Operations & Maintenance, Sarbanes-Oxley implementation, and other subjects. Participants will understand Wall Street's view of their industry and company.

  • Understand how Wall Street views your company and industry.
  • Learn to make decisions that will improve the four basic financial goals of your company under competition: efficiency, profitability, liquidity, solvency.
  • Learn how to read your company's annual report and compare it to another company's.
